Sogou.com, a Chinese search engine owned by Sohu Inc., said Tuesday that its second-quarter revenues rose by a faster-than-expected 123 percent year on year to 30 million U.S. dollars.
Revenues will likely reach between 100 million and 150 million U.S. dollars for all of 2012, said Wang Xiaochuan, Sogou's chief executive officer.
"As a technology-driven company, we will be committed to developing new products, and we will continue to increase spending on research and development to ensure rapid growth," Wang said.
In terms of user numbers, Sogou has become the country's fourth-largest Internet company, following Tencent, Qihoo 360 and Baidu.
The company had 370 million users at the end of June, according to data from iResearch, a leading Chinese market research firm.
