Xiamen Golden Dragon Bus Co., a leading bus and coach manufacturer, will recall 144 vehicles to fix problems that could pose safety risks, the country's quality watchdog said Tuesday.
The recall affects 144 coaches manufactured between Nov. 16 and Dec. 30, 2011, according to a statement posted on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).
The automaker said the coach seats are not solid enough, which could pose safety risks for passengers during a crash.
The automaker promised to check all affected vehicles, replace defective parts free of charge and eliminate other risks, according to the statement.
The company will notify customers of the recall via phone and mail.
Owners can also contact the AQSIQ's defective product control center hotlines (010-59799616 and 010-65537365) for more information.
