Chinese stocks started the month of September with moderate gains at closing on Monday, after the benchmark index tumbled 2.74 percent in August to the lowest level in more than three years.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index bounced 11.63 points, or 0.57 percent, to close at 2,059.15.
The Shenzhen Component Index jumped 150.68 points, or 1.84 percent, to close at 8,361.67.
