Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao told delegates of the Summer Davos Forum on Tuesday that China offers the same treatment to foreign-funded companies as it does to domestic firms in their participation in the nation's emerging industries of strategic importance.
To develop these industries, China must be open to the outside world, and attract foreign-funded companies to participate in the development with their technologies and talents, Wen said while meeting entrepreneurs on the sidelines of the event, which is being held in north China's Tianjin.
The premier said that many foreign companies have high technology in sectors such as electric cars, advanced materials, new energies, and bio-chemicals, and China must strengthen cooperation with them.
Furthermore, Wen vowed China will offer equal treatment to both domestic firms and foreign-funded companies in government purchase, while the country will step up protection of intellectual property rights.
