China stocks rise after banking system cash crunch eases

Chinese stocks continued to climb Friday after a steep advance made Thursday on news of a record weekly liquidity injection from the nation's central bank.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.45 percent, or 29.85 points, to finish at 2,086.17. The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 8,679.22, up 192.94 points, or 2.27 percent.
