China continued to increase its investment in US Treasury bonds in August, marking the second consecutive month of rising holdings, according to updated data from the US Treasury Department Tuesday.
China's holdings of US Treasury debt increased by $4.3 billion from July to August, raising the nation's overall holdings to $1.15 trillion, the US Treasury Department said Tuesday in a statement on its website.
China continues to be the largest holder of US Treasury debt, followed by Japan with investments in US debt totaling $1.12 trillion.
