Gasoline, diesel inventories rebound in Sept

China's inventories of oil products increased in September from a month earlier as gasoline and diesel stockpiles rebounded after demand declined, according to data from the media.

The country's diesel supply increased by 0.25 percent to 7.93 million metric tons at the end of September from August, according to Bloomberg calculations based on data released on Monday by China Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals, a Xinhua News Agency publication. The inventories increased for the first time in seven weeks from their lowest level since November.

Gasoline stockpiles climbed 0.83 percent to 5.72 million tons by the end of September, according to the data.

Oil-product inventories gained as "speculative" demand faltered after the Chinese government increased fuel prices last month, said China Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals. The demand for kerosene remained relatively strong, while the demand for diesel and gasoline decreased, it said.
