Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, as the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.63 percent, or 34.22 points, to close at 2,071.51.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed at 8,399.38, down 1.89 percent, or 161.82 points.
