A large delegation from the Danish food industry led by the Danish Minister for Food and Agriculture visited Beijing and Shanghai from Nov 24 to 29 to promote agricultural trade ties between the countries.
Denmark is the world's third largest exporter of pork, exporting more than 30 million pigs a year to the global market.
Throughout the visit, the Danish delegation sought to sign agreements that would allow new products such as Danish poultry and eggs to enter the Chinese market, according to an e-mailed statement from the Danish Embassy to China.
"I believe that in the future we will export far more commodities and canned food to Chinese consumers," said Mette Gammicchia, market development director of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council.
