Japanese automaker Mazda Motor Corp. sold 12,187 new cars in China last month, a decline by 29.7 percent year on year, a company statement said Monday.
Mazda's car sales reached 169,814 units in the first eleven months in China, down 11.3 percent from the previous year, according to the statement.
Yamada Noriaki, board chairman of Mazda China, said the sales outlook in China was grim but thanked those who bought cars.
Mazda's new car sales in the country dived by 45 percent in October from a year earlier due to sour ties between Japan and China as the company said in a report then.
Another Japanese car giant Toyota has reportedly seen a sales slump in China as well.
Japanese news wire Kyodo said Monday that Toyota's new car sales in China dropped 22.1 percent in November year on year to 63,800 units.
However, Toyota said the company was recovering from a 48.9-percent sales plunge in September amid territorial disputes in the East China Sea.
