The Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn, which supplies Apple, says it is considering doing more manufacturing in the United States so that it can exploit a "Made in the USA" label.
A company spokesman said Foxconn would have to make good use of local high value engineering talent for its US production lines to compensate for the high cost of labor compared with China where most of its manufacturing takes place.
The company says it wants a bigger market share and to make the brand more recognized. It says there is no limit to the type of products that could be manufactured in the US.
