Chinese shares surged more than 4 percent on Friday as investors have high expectations for an annual economic conference that will set the tone for China's economic policies in 2013.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 4.32 percent, or 89.15 points, to end at 2,150.63.
The Shenzhen Component Index finished at 8,530.9, up 4.4 percent, or 359.55 points.
The Chinese government will set the tone for next year's economic policies in the upcoming Central Economic Work Conference in Beijing, the date of which is yet to be announced.
