China's telecommunication sector saw its main business revenue rise 9.2 percent from a year earlier to hit 983.37 billion yuan (156.31 billion U.S. dollars) between January and November, according to latest data.
About 73.7 percent of the revenue came from mobile communication businesses, while 26.3 percent was from fixed communication companies, data from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed Monday.
In the first 11 months, revenue from mobile communications increased 11 percent year on year to 724.53 billion yuan, while fixed communication revenue grew 4.4 percent to 258.84 billion yuan, the data showed.
As of November, mobile phone users reached 1.1 billion, of which 220.49 million were 3G users. In the first 11 months alone, 3G users increased by 92.06 million.
Meanwhile, fixed-line users dropped 5.72 million to reach 279.38 million in the first 11 months.
More consumers accessed Internet via mobile devices, the data showed. Mobile Internet users surged 111.27 million to 745.6 million from January to November. Broadband Internet users grew 24.03 million to 174.03 million in the period.
