China's top economic planner says the six LCD panel companies it fined for price fixing have repaid the more than 27 million US dollars overcharged money to Chinese TV makers. In addition, one of them has paid the fine and the other are preparing to pay it.
The companies, including Samsung, LG and four from Taiwan, have committed to abiding by Chinese laws, maintaining the order of market competition and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese TV makers and consumers.
They also said they will supply high-end products and new technology products to China equally. Meanwhile, they will extend the warranty of the LCD panels to 36 months from 18 months to Chinese TV makers.
The National Development and Reform Commission, fined these 6 companies 353 million Yuan or about 56 million US dollars for their price fixing of LCD panels from 2001 to 2006.
