China's largest search engine company Baidu Inc plans to expand business into Internet security by cooperating with Kingsoft Corporation, a domestic antivirus software provider, and Internet firm Tencent Holdings, the Shanghai Evening Post reported Monday.
Baidu's move was believed to target Qihoo 360 Technology Co, a leading Chinese antivirus software company which launched a search engine operation in 2012 and has been competing fiercely with Baidu since then.
Qihoo 360's CEO Zhou Hongyi told the newspaper that it may be a monopolized partnership for the sector.
