The Bank of China (BOC) opened a branch in Vladivostok Friday, its second branch in the Russian Far East and the first Chinese financial institution in the Primorsky Krai district.
Russia's Primorsky Krai borders China's northeast Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces. BOC's new branch in the district's capital is aimed at taking advantage of cross-border exchanges to provide businesses and individuals of both countries with a full range of financial services.
The first BOC branch in Russia was opened in Khabarovsk, the biggest city in Russia's Far East, in June.
BOC is the first Chinese commercial bank listed on both the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, providing financial services in 32 countries and regions across the world.
