The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited (BEA China) opened its 25th branch for business in the Chinese mainland in Ningbo City, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Monday.
The Ningbo outlet is the bank's second branch in the province, after its branch in the provincial capital of Hangzhou.
The opening of the Ningbo branch will enable BEA to further extend its reach to personal and corporate customers in the dynamic Yangtze River Delta region, said Kwan Tat Cheong, executive director and chief executive of BEA China.
Ningbo is an important center for the production of electrical products, textiles, food and industrial tools.
BEA is the largest independent local bank in Hong Kong. It currently has more than 20 outlets in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Suzhou and Kunshan in the Yangtze River Delta region.
