Dangdang leads with discounts

Dangdang.com, a leading Chinese B2C e-commerce bookstore, announced Sunday that they saved 2.67 billion yuan ($428.5 million) for their book buyers in 2012, with an average 40 percent discount across the board.

The company accounted for 50 percent of total transactions made by domestic online book retailers in 2012, Dangdang told the Global Times Sunday.

And the online retailer said the number of shoppers via its mobile platforms for iOS and Android saw increases of 53.39 percent and 44.89 percent respectively in 2012 compared with a year earlier.
