German automaker Volkswagen AG (VW) plans to open at least 10 new factories in the world by 2015, among which seven will be located in China, news portal caijing.com.cn reported Wednesday.
Martin Winterkorn, VW's CEO, said at an annual meeting in Germany on March 15 that sales in China last year increased by 24.5 percent year-on-year to 2.81 million cars, contributing 30.2 percent to its global sales.
