Huawei Technologies Co, a Chinese telecom equipment maker, saw its net profit surge by 24.5 percent year-on-year to 15.38 billion yuan ($2.48 billion) in 2012, the company said in its 2012 annual report Monday.
The report said that the company's global sales revenue reached 220.2 billion yuan in 2012, up 8 percent from 203.9 billion yuan in 2011.
Internet services, such as building and maintaining broadband infrastructures, remain the company's top revenue generator, contributing 160.1 billion yuan in 2012, or 72.7 percent of total sales revenue, according to the report.
"The telecom Internet market will continue to expand and the company will see sustainable growth," said Guo Ping, rotating CEO of Huawei.
