All but two of the 70 monitored cities by the National Bureau of Statistics saw home prices rise last month of those 70 cities, prices rose the fastest in tier one cities. On a monthly basis, Shanghai's home prices rose by the highest margin of 3.2 percent, followed by Shenzhen, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
China's eastern city of Wenzhou is the only city that saw prices Fall. Wenzhou's average home price edged down by one tenth of a percent in March versus February. The other major city that didn't see a jump in home prices was the southeastern city of Quanzhou, where home prices remained unchanged.
