US retailer Wal-Mart Stores Inc told the Global Times Sunday that it has removed sub-par paper cups from shelves after the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce (BAIC) said its Great Value brand cups failed to meet a national quality standard.
The decision came after the BAIC revealed on April 28 that a total of 43 paper products had failed a national quality inspection, including the Great Value brand owned by Wal-Mart and the Nepia brand owned by Oji Paper Nepia (Suzhou) Co.
