Nongfu Spring, one of China's biggest bottled water companies, held a news conference in Beijing on Monday to ease doubts about its product quality.
This follows a report in the Beijing Times that Nongfu Spring didn't meet the national water quality standard, only the standard of Zhejiang Province where the company is based.
In the conference, Nongfu Spring said that the national standard is mandatory and that they do meet the standard. Nongfu Spring also said it will close its factory in Beijing. In China, one in every five bottles of water sold is from Nongfu Spring.
