China Eastern Airlines declared over the weekend that it had taken possession of an A320 aircraft equipped with sharklet wing-tip devices from Airbus China in Tianjin. It is the first Chinese carrier to get such aircraft which Airbus says can offer up to 4 percent fuel reduction.
Shu Mingjiang, vice president flight operations of China Eastern, said that China Eastern will introduce 97 more A320 aircraft with sharklet wing-tips in the coming years.
Air Asia received the first A320 aircraft equipped with sharklets in December 2012.
