Home appliance producer Gree Electric Appliances Inc of Zhuhai plans to increase its store count by 5,000 in 2013 to 20,000 in total, Oriental Morning Post reported on Monday, citing a company executive.
Liang Tao, general manager of Shanghai Gree Air Conditioners Sales Co, the sales branch of Gree in Shanghai, said the firm will build large-scale stores in which consumers can try out new products while in the future the stores will also sell other brands.
Liang said 70 percent of Gree's sales comes from its own stores, 20 percent from appliance retailers and 10 percent from online platforms.
