China has denounced the EU's recent approval of tariffs on Chinese solar panels. Speaking on Wednesday, Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesman Shen Danyang stressed that China had made great efforts to solve the dispute through negotiations.
"Chinese government and enterprises have showed great sincerity and made efforts in solving the issue through dialogue and negotiation. China firmly opposes the EU's decision to impose preliminary duties on solar panels imported from China," Shen said.
He adds that the country has begun investigations into allegations of dumping and subsidies on wine imported from the EU.
