China objects to EU solar tariffs

China has expressed strong opposition to EU's anti-dumping duties on imports of solar products from China.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei reiterated the objection. He said China values its strategic partnership with the European Union, and is committed to safeguarding the smooth development of economic and trade ties.

Hong said the Chinese government and enterprises have demonstrated maximum sincerity and made great efforts to settle the problem through dialogue. China hopes the European Union will show more sincerity.

Hong Lei urged the European Union to stop taking trade protective measures, which will harm both sides.
