South Korea's investment in East China's Shandong Province currently amounts to $8.2 billion, a 23 percent of the country's investment in China, Xinhua News Agency reported Wednesday.

A total of 5,800 Korean companies have developed businesses in Shandong, making Shandong the largest recipient of South Korean investment, according to Xinhua's report citing the latest information from a South Korean commodity fair.

The fair opened in Jinan, capital of Shandong Province, and attracted over 100 enterprises from South Korea as well as over 200 Korea-funded enterprises in China.
