South China's Hainan Province, which has had an offshore duty-free program since April 2011, has recorded more than 5 billion yuan ($81.5 million) in sales at its two duty-free stores as of the first half of June, Xinhua News Agency reported Sunday, citing the latest data from local customs.
A total of 2.06 million visitors have bought a net of 5.02 billion yuan worth of products from the island's two duty-free stores, according to customs statistics.
