Tesco, the world's third largest retailer by revenue, said Tuesday it would enter China's booming e-commerce market to offer vegetables, fruits and tens of thousands of daily necessities in its online shop.
Tesco will provide the service within Shanghai's Inner Ring Road, and all products will be dispatched and delivered by the retailer's existing branches in the city, news portal qianlong.com reported Tuesday.
To ensure the freshness of the food, the UK-based retailer will use three-cabin trucks with temperature control. China will be the 10th country where Tesco offers the service.
