Two Chinese airlines that are the first Chinese customers of Boeing 787 Dreamliner are negotiating with Boeing Co about compensation for the aircraft's delayed delivery, the Beijing Times reported on Thursday.
China Southern Airlines Co Ltd, which was the first Chinese carrier to receive a 787 Dreamliner on May 30, already lodged a claim with Boeing, the carrier said, but it did not release the compensation details.
Hainan Airlines Co Ltd, which will receive its first 787 Dreamliner early next month, will also negotiate with Boeing over the delivery delay, the newspaper reported.
Four Chinese airlines made 41 orders for Boeing 787 Dreamliners but the first delivery of 787 Dreamliners globally was delayed for almost three years.
