The National Business Daily (NBD), a Chinese economic news outlet, said in a statement on its official Weibo Wednesday that it has retained an attorney in response to a lawsuit filed by Qihoo 360 Technology, China's largest Internet security service provider.
NBD published two stories, on February 26 and July 4, accusing the company of inserting illegal software into its anti-virus software and Internet browser.
NBD said that the company stole users' private information and business secrets to gain more market share and serve its own interests.
Both times, Qihoo 360 denied the claims and filed lawsuits accusing NBD of commercial defamation within a day of the stories being published.
