A group of Chinese and U.S. CEOs on Thursday held a roundtable discussion with high-ranking officials from both countries during the fifth round of the China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED).
"They had a candid and engaging discussion about business conditions on the ground in the United States and China, and areas in which the two countries can cooperate," the U.S. Treasury Department said in a readout of the discussion.
Senior officials from China and the United States including Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, State Councilor Yang Jiechi, U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and Deputy Secretary of State William Burns took part in the discussion with CEOs including Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing and DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman.
China and the United States have been holding the annual S&ED talks since 2009 when U.S. President Barack Obama came to power, as a major channel of communication to enhance mutual trust, boost cooperation and properly handle differences.
