The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the country's industry watchdog, Thursday released new measures to phase out outdated capacity in 19 industries, including sectors such as steel, aluminum and cement production.
The ministry has created a first batch of lists of companies with outdated capacity, and said that the outdated capacity would be completely phased out before the end of 2013.
A total of 24 companies in the steel industry were listed as having outdated capacity.
