NASDAQ-listed Sohu.com Inc, a leading domestic online media firm, reported Monday a surge of 33 percent year-on-year in revenues to $339 million for the second quarter ended June 30.
The company's quarterly brand advertising revenues reached $100 million for the first time, a 45 percent increase year-on-year. The company attributed the growth particularly to "the strong traffic and improved sales execution of the online video business."
However, the revenue of its wireless business dropped 2 percent year-on-year to $15 million.
Its net income in the second quarter was $53 million, a 58 percent rise year-on-year but a drop of 8 percent quarter-on-quarter.
The company predicted revenues for the fiscal third quarter to be between $358 million and $370 million.
