Anti-dumping and countervailing probes on European wine and polysilicon are still ongoing, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) told the Global Times Tuesday.
MOC said it hopes that industries on both sides can resolve the dispute through dialogue, consultation and cooperation.
The statement came after recent media reports alleging that China has agreed to discuss freezing its inquiry into whether Europe is dumping wine and polysilicon, after the EU and Chinese officials settled a dispute over exports of solar panels from China to the European market.
If China drops the anti-dumping probe, it will offer comfort to winemakers in France, Italy and Spain and will also be a relief for Germany's Wacker Chemie, a large supplier of polysilicon to China, the UK's Financial Times reported on July 28.
