Transactions through third-party payment systems in the first half of this year reached 6.91 trillion yuan ($1.13 trillion), 66 percent of the value of all transactions in 2012, a report by CCID Consulting said.
China UnionPay Merchant Services took the lead with a market share of 46.3 percent, followed by Alipay, 17.8 percent, and China Payment and Remittance Service, 6.2 percent.
Bank point-of-sale businesses and online payment businesses are the two biggest sections in the third-party payment sector, accounting for 97.39 percent of all transactions in the first half of the year.
ChinaPNR President Zhou Ye previously said that as of June of this year, both the company's transaction volume and revenue exceeded those for all of 2012.
