A group of engineers and officials from 21 developing countries graduated on Monday from a program of training on solar energy applications in Gansu province, Science and Technology Daily reported.
The training focused on practical technologies related to solar energy, such as photovoltaic technology, water heaters, desalination systems and houses that run mostly on solar energy.
The 34 participants from Myanmar, Senegal and Chile and other developing countries completed the 53-day training package, jointly sponsored by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the Ministry of Commerce.
The project was hosted by UNIDO's International Solar Energy Center for Technology Promotion & Transfer, which is based in the provincial capital Lanzhou.
