WeChat, a mobile text and voice messaging application developed by Chinese Internet service portal Tencent, now has more than 100 million overseas users, Tencent vice president Sun Zhonghuai said at a communications forum held on Thursday.
The mobile app supports 18 languages and is available in more than 200 countries and regions, Sun said.
Tencent is making more efforts to promote WeChat globally, including hiring football star Lionel Messi to shoot a commercial for the app.
