Six infant formula producers including Biostime, Mead Johnson Nutrition, Abbott Laboratories, Danone's Dumex, and Fonterra that were found to have violated China's Anti-Monopoly Law have paid their fines totaling 678 million yuan ($110 million) by August 19, the CCTV reported Sunday.
All of the dairy producers chose not to appeal against the administrative decision. China's price regulator decided to impose the heavy fines on these infant formula makers recently, following an investigation beginning March which found that the dairy producers engaged in price-fixing practices which infringed the consumers' interest.
