Car plate competition toughens

More than 1.55 million applicants joined the monthly lottery for car plates in Beijing Monday, Beijing Daily reported Monday.

According to Beijing's current car registration policy, people who wants to get a car plate must apply in the monthly lottery held by the Beijing transport and vehicle authorities.

Only 18,499 out of the 1.55million qualified individual applicants will succeed in the lucky draw and get their car plates. The chance for success this month would be one in 84, harder than the last month when the success ratio was one out of 82.
