Sinopec has invested more than 200 billion yuan ($32.68 billion) on upgrading oil product quality during the past 10 years, Zhang Yaocang, vice general manager of Sinopec Group, said Saturday at a forum on top 500 enterprises held in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan Province.
In terms of oil products, Sinopec has promoted environmentally friendly ethanol gasoline in several provinces and produced bio-jet fuel out of gutter cooking oil.
Sinopec is committed to tackling pollution and will spend 22.8 billion yuan on removal of ammonia and sulphur from emissions in the following three years. The company will also try to develop new patented technology, according to Zhang.
