China has largely been dependent on imports for core technology, with 80 percent of the country's chips being imported, information portal aastock.com reported Tuesday, citing a government think tank official.
Currently, China remains a net importer of technology and intellectual property, Han Jun, deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council, was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Han noted that China is in the process of a transition that targets enhanced independent R&D capacity and sharpened corporate creative edge.
