The leading painting manufacturer, Nippon Paint China, and the largest domestic decoration enterprise, Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co., Ltd, held a significant signing ceremony in Shanghai on September 4, where they officially announced that they would strategically collaborate with each other in painting and home decoration respects in the future.

Nippon Paint China will be responsible for delivering painting products and customized painting services for all Gold Mantis construction projects in future. The projects will include five-star hotels, high-end office buildings, villas, residential apartments, hospitals, airports, and high-speed railway stations.

Nippon Paint China and Gold Mantis have been business partners before, but this is the first time that the two biggest industry giants of their kind have officially joined hands. This not only results in a win-win situation, but also promises to bring actual industrial benefits.

The collaboration has been hailed as remarkable for both companies. Eric Chung, president of Nippon Paint China, said the alliance will offer his company greater opportunities to participate in the field of public construction. Past decades have seen rapid development of the real estate industry and fast growth of enterprises in the public building decoration sector.

Gold Mantis, the first domestic IPO enterprise from the building decoration industry, has been atop of the list of the top 500 domestic enterprises of building decoration since 2003. Their decorating works include many world-renowned buildings, such as the Beijing National Stadium (aka Bird's Nest), the National Center for Performing Arts and the National Museum of China.

Zhu Nong, chief engineer and general manager of the Gold Mantis supply chain management center, was optimistic about both sides' future cooperation.

"Nippon Paint's high-quality paint products and leading painting service give us confidence in our work," he said.

Chung noted that Nippon Paint China and Gold Mantis will present the public with "more colorful city landscapes" as a result of their synergy.
