Chinese shares end lower on Monday

Chinese shares ended lower on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.22 percent, or 4.82 points, to finish at 2,231.40.

The Shenzhen Component Index retreated 0.33 percent, or 28.54 points, to finish at 8,659.00.
