The 8th EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair will be held on Oct 21-23 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province.
The event, under the theme "Technology Innovation and Industrial Cooperation", will bring together 800 enterprises from China and Europe, focusing on cooperation in fields such as energy-saving, new-energy and new materials, modern agriculture, biomedical, general aviation, and information and communication technology.
"General aviation and modern agriculture are expected to receive most attention this year," said Segree Dai, chief executive officer of the EU Project Innovation Center (Chengdu).
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic will lead a delegation of 50 to the fair, said Dai.
"The Czech delegation's main purpose is to seek cooperation in general aviation," Dai said. The Czechs hope to sign a memorandum with the EU Project Innovation Center to promote cooperation between the Czech Republic and Sichuan province in economics and trade as well as the general aviation.
The Czech delegation will bring three light aircraft to the pavilion of the 14th Western China International Fair (WCIF). according to Dai. The fair is part of the WCIF.
Delegates from other European countries will bring a variety of high-tech products, including 3D printer.
The provincial governor of Poland's Lodz province will also lead a 20-person delegation to the fair.
Lodz is the terminal station for the Chengdu-Europe international direct freight rail line, which starts from the Qingbaijiang district of Chengdu. The line was opened in April this year and the journey takes 14 days.
"The EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair has become one of the biggest investment, trade and technology cooperation platforms between the European Union and China, and it is playing a more and more important role," said Fu Xuekun, deputy director of the administrative committee for the Chengdu High-Tech Zone.
The fair attracted more than 4,000 EU and Chinese companies in the past seven years, signing 1,145 agreements in total.
