Global food giant Nestle introduced a new capsule coffee machine to the China market on Tuesday, in a bid to consolidate and expand its coffee business.
The new machines, called Nescafe Dolce Gusto, currently use six different flavor capsules: Latte Macchiato, Cappuccino, Caffe Lungo, Espresso Intenso, Chococino and Tea Latte – a flavor specially designed for the Chinese market.
"We see really good potential here. As a strong leader of the coffee business in China, it is our role to develop coffee culture," said Altug Guven, senior vice-president of the coffee business unit of Nestle's food and beverage division, Greater China.
Guven said China is in the top 10 markets of Nestle's coffee business, close to the top five, and may become number one in a couple of years based on its fast development.
This July, Nestle opened two new factories in China as it continues to grow its business in the country by investing in its portfolio of local and global brands.
