Qatar Airways, one of the three main airlines in the Middle East, is to open a route between Doha, the Qatari capital, and Hangzhou, provincial capital of Zhejiang, on Dec 20.
"Hangzhou will be Qatar Airways' seventh destination in China," chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker said.
The airline will operate four flights a week on the new route, using Airbus 330s that can carry 260 passengers.
It opened a route between Doha and Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, in September.
