Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has had its cross-border e-commerce pilot project approved by the General Administration of Customs, Economic Daily reported over the weekend, making Chongqing the first pilot city of cross-border e-commerce in the country.
Chongqing proposed four kinds of business models, including general import, bonded import, general export and bonded export, the report said, noting the four kinds of business models can provide all clearance services that cross-border commodities need.
Chongqing has been the forerunner in developing the country's cross-border e-commerce, the report said, noting that the Chongqing International E-Commerce Transaction Certificate Center was founded in 2010 in a bid to provide service to international e-commerce settlement, according to the report.
