Qualified foreign institutional investors, or QFIIs, opened 17 new A-share accounts in October, marking the 22nd consecutive month that they have been opening accounts in the A-share markets in China, according to the China Securities Depository and Clearing Corp Ltd.
QFIIs have opened 194 new A-share accounts this year, an average of 19.4 per month.
By the end of October, the number of QFII's A-share accounts had increased 54.1 percent from the beginning of the year to a total of 547.
However, the daily average of new A-share accounts in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges stood at 15,866 in October, declining 0.79 percent from the same period the previous month.
The number of A-share accounts engaging in transactions in October also experienced a decrease to 21.6 million, down 486,000 from September.
